1. Product Description

The term “high strength” is one of rather ambiguous fastener terms. Many people in the industry would interpret the phrase “high strength” to refer to any bolt that has been quenched and tempered to develop its strength. Additionally, the ASTM specification ASTM A325 A490 is commonly referred to as being manufactured from a “high strength, alloy steel”, even though this material is not heat treated.Each different about the hex head bolt material has particular properties to fit specific applications.
